"How does the 2010 FIA European Rallycross Calendar looks like?" was one of the most heard questions the last weeks and months in the small world of Rallycross. Well the answer is finally known as the FIA Off-Road Commission, who met at Paris earlier today, announced the 2010 calendar following today's meeting.
In 2010 Austria is no longer a hosting country of an event counting for the FIA European Rallycross Championship. This is the outcome of the final evaluation done by the Off-Road Commission of all 2009 events. The 2010 calendar is still holding ten events and therefore Finland is allowed to host an event after a succesfull candidate event at Kouvola (Tykkimäen Moottorirata) only two weeks ago. The championship kicks-off on May 1-2 at Montalegre, Portugal with the opening round of the 2010 series while the final race will be held at Sosnová, Czech Republic on September 18-19.
The calendar for the 2010 FIA European Rallycross Championship, as it was confirmed to Rallycross Online by FIA Off-Road Commission President Andy Lasure, looks as follows:
01.05.-02.05. - Pista Automóvel de Montalegre - Montalegre - Portugal
08.05.-09.05. - Circuit de Kerlabo - Cohiniac - France
30.05.-31.05. - Lydden Hill Race Circuit - Wootton - England
05.06.-06.06. - Nyirádi Motorsport Centrum - Nyirád - Hungary
03.07.-04.07. - Höljesbanan - Höljes - Sweden
10.07.-11.07. - Tykkimäen Moottorirata - Kouvola - Finland
07.08.-08.08. - Duivelsbergcircuit - Maasmechelen - Belgium
14.08.-15.08. - Estering - Buxtehude - Germany
11.09.-12.09. - Tor Słomczyn - Słomczyn - Poland
18.09.-19.09. - Autodrom Česká Lípa - Sosnová - Czech Republic
This calendar is subject to approval by the FIA World Motorsport Council who will meet next week on October 21 at Paris.
