Timerzyanov 2nd and Pinomäki 3rd at the 6th round of the European Rallycross Championship.
Set Promotion made strong performance at the 6th round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship at Kouvola, Finland. Timur Timerzyanov took 2nd and Jussi Pinomäki 3rd place with their division 1A Renault Clio´s. European Rallycross was back in Finland after 11 years break.
– What a great result as a team. Two drivers on the podium. Both cars were running without any problem. I´m more than satisfied. To be realistic, you couldn´t ask for more, Pinomäki said.
This was only the second outing for Pinomäki this year. As planned, he did only Swedish and Finnish ERC-rounds. The last time he was on podium was a year ago in Hungary.
– If you haven’t been on the podium for such a long time you can really feel how sweet this 3rd place is for me. I really pushed and enjoyed. In my opinion, everything worked perfectly, Pinomäki said.
In the drivers standings Timerzyanov still holds the lead by four points to Kouvola racewinner Ildar Rakhmatullin (86-82 pts). Timur started from the pole but lost his place at the start.
– It´s very difficult to overtake. Timur did what he could. He is leading on the points, and four races to fo, so the titlechase is still on, teamchief Pinomäki said.
