– The result itself is okay. In fact, we scored second highest points because Liam Doran (who was 2nd after all) does´t drive for the US points. So I should be very pleased for this points. But to be honest, I wasn´t on the normal pace. I’m a little disappointed with my performance. Speed wasn´t there where it should be. I haven´t drive four-wheel turbocharged machine for a while. Maybe that was the thing, Pinomäki said.

Tanner Foust was the winner again. He also took 1st place on season opener. Pinomäki was 3rd fastest after qualification heats, and earned 3rd starting place for A-final. For example one of the biggest Yankee-superstars Travis Pastrana was outside the A-final.

– Local stars are really fast, and their cars seems to be flying. And they also drive with very high risklevel, in my opinion. I guess that they need not to be very worried about about their cars or budjet…, Pinomäki said.

In this 1st edition of US rallycross championship all events are held in same location, New Jersey Motorsport Park. Competition format has been copied from Europe, but the track itself was much faster than in Europe

– The track was at least twice longer, and it was extremely fast. Hard brakings and on the long straights topspeed was like 200 km/h. By anyway, this was really a good move. I´m happy that I took his challenge. Still one race to go, and now know better what to expect. As I have said earlier, rallycross has a huge potential in US, Pinomäki told.

The season finale will be held in early November.
