After a strong run in finnish roads, where Sander and Ken managed to finish the rally with a strong second place, the estonian crew is hoping to make the best possible start for the second half of the season. „For me it will be all new. Ken has got some previous experience from tarmac, but i have never competed on a tarmac rally. I have just driven some special stages, but it’s very little if i compare it with some of the other Juniors, who are competing in the series this year,” explained Sander.
Pärn – Järveoja are holding on for a third position at the moment in the Junior WRC standings. „After a difficult start in Portugal, we have managed to get a third and a second position from the following rallies. So everything seem to get better for us. I just hope that we will be able to get use to tarmac quickly, so that we could get some good points from the remaining three rallies,” said Pärn.
„We did some pre-event testing in Estonia on tarmac. Karl Kruuda was there to help me. I wanted to get a better understanding about the grip and how the tyre works on tarmac. I think i feel a little bit better now after the test,” explained Pärn. The young estonian added the their aim will be to finish the rally and get as many valuable experience as possible. „Every kilometer we drive on tarmac is very important for us, so we have to stay focused to get to the finish in Trier on saturday eavning,” said Pärn.
