A 23-years-old driver from Tatarstan is one of the leading drivers in division 1A, which is for frontwheel and non-turbocharged machines. Last year Timerzyanov took his maiden win and was 3rd overall on the points and achieved the bronze.
– I pretty sure that we have the right package for Timur to be a European Champion. He is very talented and he has already proved his skills on the top level. I´m really looking forward, Jussi Pinomäki says.
The team, based at Turku, Finland, is already there where the action takes place. Before arriving to Portugal they spent few days in France for testing.
– We are in shape. Car, engine and everything worked without any problems. So, in that point of few we are ready to fight. But we must also remember, that competion is getting harder and harder. Our aim is to win the title, but there are many other drivers and teams also who are thinking just the same, chief mechanic Toni Reunanen knows.
Team chief Pinomäki himself will not a take part on the few first ERC-rounds. 3-time European Champion has decided to run a limited campaign after seven succesful and colorful years on the action packed rallycross sport.
