24 of age youngster Thibault Spillebeen and Isidoor Smets will drive the Sami Tuohinen histo VW Scirocco. For Thibault being second in the 2009 Belgium national young rally driver challenge will it be his first time out on snow, Thibault, ”I’m very happy to start in this rally. Normally I drive my C2R2 Max on asphalt, this time with the VW on snow and stud tires. It will be totally different and I’m really looking forward to enter the first stage”. Together with his codriver Isidoor Smets the first priority is to gain experience, Isidoor, ”I was Thibault’s codriver when he won the challenge. Again I will support Thibault to build up his confidence. The main goal is to finish”. Isidoor who was copilot for several rally pilot’s and second with Freddy Loix in Monte Carlo 2009 is also the person who took the initiative for this project. Isidoor, ”Through my Finish friend’s I heard many positive things about this rally.

Via the interest of Thibault the preparation got started, even so that also the father Patrick will start this rally. So for us it’s a family event…”. Patrick Spillebeen and Marc Vandemoortele will enter with the second car a Toyota ST. Patrick who entered the Belgium rally championship several times with Porsche and Seat historic car, Patrick, ”Rally has always been a part of our life, to be able to do this mythic rally with my son will be a fantastic experience”. Patrick will be codriven by Marc Vandemoortele who has been the codriver of Jimmy Mc Rae during his rally outings in Belgium, Marc, ”Also for me this will be a total new experience. Gaining experience will be our main task”. Patrick and Marc will start at nr 98, Thibault and Isidoor have nr 104.
