The Venezuelan was surprised by his own performance on Tarmac and pleased to be able to tackle the many and varying challenges the Trier-based event threw at him: ”If I reflect on the event, it’s a shame that I lost time yesterday stopping to help another crew, because without that I really could have fought to win the Production Cup, but I know that safety is important in any sport, so I don’t regret my decision. This is just the beginning of my career on Tarmac and this rally already exceeded my expectations, so in the end I can’t be anything except happy with my result!”
Ralliart Italy Team Manager Bruno De Pianto is encouraged by Fessman’s performance and feels positive looking ahead to the Tarmac events later this season: ”Carlos really impressed me this weekend. None of us knew what to expect. We didn’t have time to do a pre-event test and we knew he hadn’t got much experience on asphalt, but he seemed comfortable with his car and the roads from the start. To navigate all the stages successfully on your first outing at Rallye Deutschland is no mean feat and Carlos stayed calm and in control throughout. Without the support of Venezuela and their Ministry of Sport none of this would have been possible and we’re very grateful for the opportunity they’ve given both Carlos and Ralliart Italy.”
