– Amazing, absotulety amazing. This is really a big one. I´m so happy for Timur and Andreas and for the whole team. What a weekend. Now we are the Champions. This was what we all were aiming for. Perfect feeling, team owner and former 3-time European Champion Jussi Pinomäki said.
Timerzyanov did it on his suberb style. He was fastest around the nice Polish track in two qualification heats, and took the pole. A 23-years-old driver from Russian led the A-final from the start. His main rival Ildar Rakhmatullin wasn´t in A-final at all, so the team knew already, that Timur will be the Champion. He is the first Russian (autonomous Republic of Tatarstan) driver ever to achieve the title.
– Once again he showed his talent and performance. Even though he didn´t have to win, he played everything masterly. He was so fast, calm and consistant. I would say, that this was one of his best races ever. What a driver!, Pinomäki said.
Their second Clio-machine was driven by Norwegian Andreas Bakkerud. He also did perfect job. After some minor difficulties in qualification heats, Bakkerud was starting from the pole in B-final, and winning that, he jumped to the A-final. After actionpacked neck and nack race, he finished the race in second place.
– Two our cars on the podium, 1st and 2nd. You could not ask for more. I´m so delighted. Timur is the Champion, and Andreas showed his pace and what he is capable of. Brilliant drive also from Andreas, Pinomäki said.
Timerzyanov have scored 138 points now, and only one race to go, no one can catch him. Bakkerud is still figthing for the bronze. He is only nine points down to 3rd placed Zdenek Cermak.
Last race will take place at Sosnova, Czech on next weekend.
