Set Promotion and their driver Timur Timerzyanov are figthing for the FIA European Rallycross Champion title. Timerzyanov could secure it already at Sosnova, Poland. He is leading the championship by 11 points (118-107), and if he runs to the chequered flag before his closest rival Ildar Rahkmatullin, he will celebrate it as the European Champion in division 1A.
– We have two weekends to do this now. I would say, that Timur has been the fastest man out there during the whole season. I´m pretty sure, that he can make it happen on this penultimate race. We all are in very positive feeling. We have tested and worked hard. Everyone at our workshop has put all their effort to help Timur to achieve his golden dream, team owner Jussi Pinomäki says.
Set Promotion will run cars at Sosnova and in the finalrace at Cesca Lipa, Czech. Another Renault Clio car is leased to Norwegian young star Andreas Bakkerud.
– This is the best car in the class, and a gripping tool in my fight for the European Championship bronze medal. I think I can make the competitors sweat a little extra under the helmet when this car comes rolling down to the start grid on Saturday morning, 22-years-old Bakkerud said.
Bakkerud tested Set Promotion´s machine at Kouvola, Finland on Wednesday.
– We were presented to a very professional program there, and Set Promotion impressed us very much. I ran a 50 laps test, and had a very good feeling with the car and the team, he said.
Former 3-time European Champion Jussi Pinomäki is delighted for this new 2-car package.
– I hope that there will be both our 2 cars on the podium, Pinomäki hopes.
