Ceremonial start of auto24 Rally Estonia is in Tehvandi Stadium on Friday 15.20. Modern cars drive three stages, Historic cars two stages.
In previous years auto24 Rally Estonia, held on 19.-20. July, has had a spectacular Otepää Super Special on tarmac with the famous artificial auto24 jump. This year is no different but this time there is a reason to be in place a little bit earlier. Before competitors starting to the stage one very special event will be held. Ott Tänak, driving Group N Subaru Impreza, will compete against two Honda CRF 450 DakarX motorcycles driven by Toomas Triisa member of Dakar Rally Team Estonia. They will start to the Otepää Super Special 19.50 on Friday evening. The question is, who will be fastest and who will jump longer – rallycar or Dakar motorcycle?
So, there is a very good reason to be a little bit earlier in Otepää Super Special on Friday evening. Toomas Triisa and Mart Meeru are planning to start in Dakar 2014 and this is a good opportunity for introducing their project with this great show and of course – just to have fun!
Otepää Super Special will be broadcasted live in TV6 Estonia and in internet delfi.ee and auto24.ee. First rallycar will start to the stage 20.30. This means that rallyfans all over the world will see the stage, auto24 jump and drivers comments from the stage end. Prologue with Ott Tänak, Toomas Triisa and Mart Meeru will be shown live in TV3 news programme Seitsmesed Uudised.
Last year approximately 30 meters long jumps were made in Otepää Super Special. This time the auto24 jump has been modified and we can expect even longer jumps. Otepää Super Special has many good spectator points and one of them of course is located near to the auto24 jump.
