„Now as we have finished the rally, i can say that the mistake which i made yesterday, made the driving on todays stages eaven more difficult,” said Pärn. Sander added that it took them a great effort to get a good feeling with the car. „I drove a front wheel car two years ago and before the rally i thought it would be a lot easier,” analysed Sander.
On todays stages they improved the times and speed. On two accasions they were 5th quickest, which proved to be the best times for them in this year’s Portugese rally. „It was not a great rally for us and all the little things that are so vital, were not in my favour this time,” said Pärn.
Pärn – Järveoja scored the first points in Junior WRC. „We were 8th and those first points are important, but there is a lot of work to be done, before we can fight with the rest of the guys for the victory,” said Pärn.
Sander added that after driving 160 km on the 2nd day sages showed him how much different are the front wheel drive cars. „I have forgotten the style how to drive these cars and i need to do a lot of work before rally of Gods. Only then we will be able to show some good speed,” explained Pärn.
To sum up this years Portugal rally, it has to be said, that Sander Pärn – Ken Järveoja are disappointed. „It was not a result which we would have wanted, but now we are much wiser and need to raise up our game. As we still have 5 rallies to come, we are certain, that we will have a chance to show to the fans what we are capable of,” said Pärn.
